Longtime Dylan Guitarist Bob Britt Also Quits As His Wife
Assures Fans It Has Nothing to Do With Julian Lage's Arrival

Julian Lage's unadvertised entry into the world of Bob Dylan, however,
wasn't the only lineup change that occurred in the
"Like a Rolling Stone" icon's touring retinue.

As Rolling Stone reported on June 29, Bob Britt, who's been playing with Dylan since 2019,
announced his departure from the band by posting a photo of a plane flight
on Facebook with the caption "Sayonara Bobby."

In the meantime, Britt took to the platform once again to clarify
that he left the band of his own volition.

"Apparently there are quite a few threads out there with people speculating
about my departure from the Bob tour. I'd like to clear it up.
I was not fired but left of my own accord for reasons
I would prefer to keep private.
I will miss my band mates and crew."

"I am looking forward to getting back to doing sessions (give me a call)
and also finishing up [Britt's wife] Etta's gospel record.
As far as any touring goes, we will see what the future holds.
Meanwhile, I have some flower beds to weed."

Joel Paterson started playing in Bob Dylan's band from Jun 29, 2026.

If Bob Britt is taking over guitars, may be Dugmore (is that spelled right) is filling Bucky steel shoes... from June 96 >A few weeks ago, as Sheila Lawrence was preparing for her record release >party at Guido's, she got a call from guitarist Bob Britt. He had a fever >of 102 degrees, he told her, and couldn't play that night. Britt plays on >the road with Pam Tillis..... Maybe this can be added to the who's who list on www.expectingrain.com....when we find out for sure that Britt now a neverending tour player
