What can I say? I was jut overwhelmed by the magnificence of the
occasion. Bob's voice (after DE) was just wonderful. The band
were unbelievable. I'll Remember You was heart-werenching, and Girl
of the North Country, to hear Bob sing the word 'darkness', well
what can i say?

I took three non-Bob fans, all of whom instantly converted...

This was probably the best show I have ever seen by any artist. Though,
I will admite Bob did look rather like Frankie Howard (for his
British fans who might appreciate this reference..)

Most people were pessimistic after the two shows scheduled for the Metropolis were combined into one big show at the Verdun Auditorium. Where Metropolis is small and cozy, the Verdun Auditorium is huge and cold. The place was filled to capacity (over 5000), and the stage was obviously not designed for big places. But yet... THe crowd was increibly dynamic and young. I think teenagers and youn adults well outnumbered aging baby-boomers and hippies. Late twentysomething like myself made-up the rest. It was a hot crowd that jumped on its feet from Drifter`s Escape on. Dylan came on with no guitar for the first two songs. We could actually figure out what he sang. The accoustic was far better than anything that ever played at Verdun. Bob clearly enjoyed himself and got the crowd dancing on Sylvio, Watchtower. Even the accoustic numbers kept everyone on their feet. Last I saw him was with the Dead in Vermont last year. And while I felt that show was superior to most of what I saw of Dylan in the last 15 years, this one beat them all two-to-one. It was something to hear him interact with his audience, introduce his musicians, and actually wave to everyone before walking off the stage. Truly beautiful. Everyone got excited during Girl, but went nuts during Rainy Day. THe house lights were turned on, and Bob obviously got a kick out of watching everyone dancing and singing along. A great performeance. And BTW I felt that support act Aimee Mann deserves a few words. People liked her 30 minutes performance. Her music is modern rock wirh a folk feel to it. It rocks a lot more than her previous band 'Til Tuesday. Worth arriving early.
